JÖYTEKK is an electronic drum & vocal duo consisting with Fred and Icelandic singer Björg Blöndal. With an unusual setup, Fred manages the drum kit, sample pad, synthesizer and a vocal transformer to create a rhythmic and harmonic foundation for Björg's powerful voice and melodic improvisations. The duo performs solely original material.
The project arose when the two musicians met at Göteborg University (Sweden) in the beginning of their Master studies in artistic practice and composing, september 2023.
