Stora Visor Om Små Väsen

"Stora Visor Om Små Väsen" is a multifaceted project where Fred's original jazz compositions in Swedish reach a younger audience (ages 2-6) in different manners. The music has been performed live for kids and families since 2022 in various settings such as libraries, schools, cafés and jazz festivals, with a duo consisting of Ronya Wik (vocals) and Fred on the acoustic guitar. Not being just an ordinary musical performance, the show engages children with interactive content in an adventure where we together open small suitcases filled with surprises, as we travel to different parts of the world on a musical journey.

Inspired by the progressive rock and jazz of the 1970s and with a strong influence of Brazilian rhythms, the music is not limited to children's taste, but conveys a message that might also resonate with adults (bigger children).

After performing for some time the Swedish Arts Council (Kulturrådet) approved Fred's development of the project, where it then took off to have its music recorded and also illustrated in a children's book which was in 2024 picked up by publisher The Vibery Press.

The project has also reached international ground, performing in Finland and also during a small tour at suburban schools in the mid region of Taiwan.
